Aukra municipality is located in Romsdal and is a coastal municipality with approximately 3,700 inhabitants. The municipality has a varied business sector within energy, maritime activities, fishing, agriculture and industry, and is particularly known as the host municipality for the gas plant at Nyhamna.

Nyhamna is one of the most important gas facilities in Norway and plays a central role in the energy supply to Europe. Together with an active local business community, this makes Aukra an important municipality for value creation and sustainable development.

Through membership in West Norway Brussels Office strengthens Aukra municipality the connection to Europe and gain access to insight, networks and opportunities for international cooperation that support local and regional development.
