Vaksdal municipality is located between Bergen and Voss and has about 3,900 inhabitants. The municipality has strong industrial and craft traditions, with businesses such as Dale of Norway, Felleskjøpet and Norgesmøllene. Power production has also been an important part of the development through several generations.

Vaksdal actively works for sustainable social development and is a central part of the Arna–Stanghelle Joint Project, which will strengthen the transport infrastructure between Bergen and Oslo. The municipality combines an active business community with beautiful nature, vibrant local communities and proximity to Bergen.

Through membership in West Norway Brussels Office strengthens Vaksdal municipality the connection to Europe and gain access to insight, networks and opportunities for international cooperation that support the development of local communities and businesses.
